Alexandra Muse

My name is Alexandra Muse and I have just turned 22 years old. I graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University back in 2012 with a 2:1 in Contemporary Art Practices. I love thinking of new and exciting photo shoots and usually aim for things completely out of the norm. Below are a few of my photographs taken from my A Level photography exam and also from my final exhibition from university.

I have now set up my own photography business and I am focusing on portraitures. I absolutely love my job and wouldn't change it for the world.

I like to think my portraits are different to your average family photographer. I always try to stay clear from plain black or white backdrops and try to give my customers something beautiful they can treasure forever. With the use of antique props, stunning scenery and a creative flow my photography is constantly growing.

It's a slow start beginning your own business especially with the world of photography changing so drastically every day but it's definitely a career for passionate people who know never to give up.

So until this morning I hadn't heard of the Liebster Award until the lovely Bex nominated me - bexaspey92.blogspot.co.uk.

I still don't really fully understand the award but I'm still pleased to be nominated!

So anyway, here are the rules:

- List 11 random facts about yourself

- Answer the 11 questions which are given to you by your nominator

- Ask 11 new questions for all the bloggers that you nominate to win the award

- Nominate 9 bloggers with less than 200 followers to win the award

- Go to each of the blogger's pages to let them know about their nomination

- Thank the blogger who nominated you by mentioning them and link it back to their blog on your post

11 random facts about me:

- Even though I am a Photographer and I love my job, I would love to be a Police woman. (Maybe I just like the idea of having a bit of power!)

- I finally passed my driving test on my 5th attempt & got a minor on one of my tests for stalling because my leg was shaking so much from nerves!

- I am an extremely nervous person.

- I'm scared of the dark.

- I'm a vegetarian.

- Sometimes I think I love animals more than people.

- I once got my mum to pull over on an extremely busy road to college to save a pigeon who had flown through a wire fence and had gotten itself stuck. I was late for my first lesson and my Media tutor didn't believe my excuse!

- I don't like having my face covered by anything.

- After school when I was in year 5, I begged my mum for an ice lolly from the ice cream man. We then walked to the park with our lollies where I fell from the monkey bars and broke my leg because my hands were so slippy from the lolly melting!

- I barely did any work for my first 2 years of uni and went to probably no more than 10 lectures throughout the entire 2 years!

- As much as I used to hate being at school, I'd give anything to re-live those years with the best of friends!

11 Questions for me to answer from Bex:

1. Biggest beauty disaster
Probably has to be the biggest spot ever to be seen on my face which popped up just a few days before my graduation! It was one of those that literally took over half my cheek, went bright red and was so painful! Thankfully as graduation came, it went down after putting every type of spot cream possible on it!

2. Most loved beauty product
Probably my red lipstick at the moment. I like how it looks with my bright blonde hair sometimes!

3. If you could look like any celebrity, who would it be?
I absolutely fell in love with Daphne Groeneveld from a previous Dior advert. She was so beautiful and adorable in the advert but I must admit that throughout her other work she hasn't looked as great as she did for Dior!

4. Favourite song
One of my favourite songs at the moment is Pompeii by Bastille.

5. Lipstick or mascara
Mascara - you can't see my eyelashes without it!

6. Country you’d most like to visit
Australia or Thailand... Or go on safari in Africa!

7. If you were on a desert island and could only have three beauty products, what would they be?
My Clinique 3-step system, Mascara and deodorant! (Does deodorant count?! Haha)

8. Favourite high street shop
Topshop!

9. Would you rather have your own personal makeup artist every morning or a personal hair stylist
Hair stylist definitely.

10. If you could only live off one meal, what would it be
Oooh tricky, hmm... I'm loving quorn spag-bol at the moment so that would be my answer for now!

11. Favourite city in England?
Anywhere in Devon! I adore Devon. Although I think there is actually only 2 cities in Devon?! My Geography is shocking!

I've tried to get a good selection of blogs to nominate so the 9 blogs I nominated are:

Heather - heathermbryant.blogspot.co.uk

Sarah - naturallygrimm.blogspot.co.uk

Chloe - chloemandrell.blogspot.co.uk

My questions for my 9 nominees:

3. What era would you most like to live in & why?

4. Do you have to look good to feel good?

5. Sweets or chocolate?

6. Is jewelry a necessity to you?

7. What is the most money you have ever spend on a pair of shoes?

11. Your one true love?

Just a few photographs I took the other day whilst on a walk, nothing special but I liked the small details in the trees, especially the winding roots! I also just enjoyed editing them with my new Florabella Photoshop actions! If you haven't heard of Florabella, their website or Facebook page is definitely worth a look.

I also tried my hand at a couple of self portraits!

For one of my Christmas presents, my amazing boyfriend took me to London to watch Shrek the Musical at Drury Lane Theatre, as well as taking me to dinner at The Savoy Grill (Gordon Ramsay's restaurant!) The whole weekend was absolutely amazing & I finally got to go to Madame Tussauds! Oh and not only did he take me to see Shrek, he booked us our own little booth to watch the play! Couldn't of been more perfect!

We also found a little market in Greenwich where we found a couple of little bargins!

We also had a little trip to Brugge last weekend which was a lovely little break. Bought some delicious chocolates and went on a horse and trap ride!

First blog post of 2013! I've completely abandoned my blog again recently but I have missed it quite a bit!
I'm now working for a photography company who take family portraits of people in the comfort of their own homes. It's going well so far and I'm enjoying it so that's all that matters. Although I am saving my pennies to hopefully start my own little business and have my own studio one day which I would love! Scary to think I could be working for myself in a year or so though. Here's a few of my photographs I've taken whilst working for the company.
None of these photo's have been edited by me, everything is done through the editors of the company.

So, Long time no speak eh?!
Well.. I have finally graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a 2:1 (upper 2nd class honours degree) in Contemporary Art Practices!

Wahey!

I am now trying to make myself some pennies as it is a lot harder to find a job with a degree then I first thought! Here's what I'm doing at the minute..

I am hand customising pumps with rhinestones and ribbon, similar to the Swarovski crystal Converse but a lot cheaper :P

I would really love people's feedback on these and anything I could do to improve them etc!

Take a look!

Lots of love xxx

Wednesday 6 June 2012

I haven't posted anything in a while but so much has been going on, I don't even know where to begin!
I have just celebrated my 21st birthday on 20th May and absolutely loved every minute of it. I am so grateful for the most amazing family, friends and boyfriend!
I have also recently finished my last ever year at university on Friday 25th May!
As it was my birthday on the Sunday, we just went out for a nice family meal together to celebrate and on Friday 25th May we went to the annual beer festival in my town which I love to go to and then on Saturday 26th May I went out for another meal and around town with my closest friends. I thought this was the perfect day to party as all the stresses of my final exhibition at uni were over!
Me and my Cousin at Beer Festival 2012

I got the most special and thoughtful presents from everyone, they were so generous! My mum and dad bought me a beautiful DKNY watch as well as lots of other pretty things! My friend, Becky, made me some birthday cupcakes which are absolutely amazing and taste as good as they look!

My boyfriend, Pete, also spoilt me rotten! He bought me lots of little gifts and then presented me with an envelope. Inside was a note telling me he was taking me to derbyshire for two nights at a lovely little pub we had stayed at before. I was so excited to get away after finally finishing my degree.
When the time came for us to go away, I packed my bags ready for our two nights away. Pete drove us to derbyshire, stopping off en route for a meal. We got to the pub at about 9pm and Pete insisted that we had a good nights sleep as he had lots of things planned for us to do the next day. So I did what I was told and went to sleep!
The next morning I was awoken by Pete's alarm clock. I had no idea what time it was but I was certainly not ready to get out of bed! Pete jumped out of bed and attempted to wake me up but nothing was going to get me out of bed yet! That was until he laid down two tickets from East Midlands Airport down on my pillow!
It took me a while to realise what they were and where we were going.
Pete was taking me to Paris for the night for my 21st birthday!!!
It was 4am and he told me he had a taxi booked to pick us up in 40 minutes time, I soon shot out of bed with excitement! I couldn't believe how so many people kept this massive surprise quiet!
I had the most amazing time and I can't thank him and my family enough. It was the best surprise I have ever had and I will never forget it. He truly is a keeper!

Here's just a few photo's from Paris <3

We bought a padlock and engraved it to join the other padlocks on the bridge! We both have a key each :)

I really did have the most amazing time! Oh and to top off these last few weeks, I bought a new car!! She's so beautiful and I especially adore the colour!
